By Amanda Jenkins: 'Tis the season to enjoy desserts and loved ones. Two weeks ago, I was able to do both at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The Fireworks Dessert Party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant is a reservation that I have attempted to book for the past few years. Since it is offered on special nights, it can be difficult to work into your vacation schedule. The prices are $25.99 for adults (ages 10+) and $13.99 for children (ages 3-9). If you find that you are able to, then by all means book it!

After experiencing the disappointing Epcot dessert party last year, my family was not excited when I told them I had booked this experience. It took a lot of persuading on my part, and they reluctantly followed me to Tomorrowland. We checked into the Tomorrowland Terrace at around 8:20 pm. Unlike at Epcot's dessert party, you definitely get that special, "being seen by others" feeling. Many people approached wondering if they could enter, only to be turned away. Envious looks were sent our way. We were given wristbands, so that if we wanted to leave and return, we could do so easily.

Once we entered into the lower balcony area of theTomorrowland Terrace, we were led to our table. Each table had the family's name with a flickering candle. We were told to go help ourselves to the desserts and drinks. Our table was perfectly set near the railing. We had a prime view of not only Cinderella's Castle, we were also directly under where Tinker Bell flies. We were in awe when Tinker Bell flew over us and saw her costume in detail. We were able to watch the Castle's projection and Wishes fireworks display with an awesome view, with seating!

Now, onto the desserts. This was by far a treat unto itself. There was a wonderful variety to choose from. There were Mickey Oreo bon-bons, chocolate covered strawberries, lemon tarts, banana cream dessert, key lime pies, cheesecakes, tiramisu, chocolate mocha moose, cookies, brownies, ice cream, fresh fruit, and more. There were cold drinks, coffee, hot water for tea, and hot chocolate. The desserts were delicious, and even my picky guys found that they loved everything they tried. This is by far the dessert party to attend.

This was extra special for us in that we had my parents with us. They have never experienced Walt Disney World during the holidays and haven't been in six years. My parents both felt that this dessert party was one of their favorite experiences of this trip. We scheduled it on their last night of vacation with us, and they both expressed that this was the perfect way to end their stay. This is a reservation that I will try to make for future vacations.
