Dark ride designer Sally Corp. is developing the 4D motion base shooter attraction, Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, for Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis. This will be the first 3D and animatronic shooter ride on a motion base vehicle in the United States when it debuts next year. The Joker animatronic from the new attraction is now on display at the Sally booth on the IAAPA show floor.
Meanwhile, over at the Oceaneering booth, Executive Director Dave Mauck unveiled the ride vehicle.
Running on a motion base vehicle will allow for significantly more range of motion for the ride vehicle than on traditional dark ride vehicles, which are limited to one or two dimensions of motion. (Oceaneering most recently developed the trackless ride vehicles for SeaWorld Orlando's Antarctica ride.)
