Anna and Elsa Help Kick Off the Holidays at Walt Disney World

By Robert Niles: The Frozen sisters, Anna and Elsa, have kicked off Christmas holiday celebrations at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, with the festivities ready to start at the Disneyland Resort next Thursday.

Disney World this year is presenting "A Frozen Holiday Wish" with the starts of Frozen appearing in a castle-lighting show, nightly through New Year's Eve. Here's a video, if you'd like to see if from the comfort of wherever you read Theme Park Insider, as opposed waiting with the hordes in the Magic Kingdom hub construction zone. The show starts at 19:00:

The annual Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party also has started at the Magic Kingdom, with the upcharge holiday event running selected evenings through December 19 (mostly Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday nights - with no parties during the busy Thanksgiving week).

On the west coast, at Disneyland, the annual holiday celebrations start Thursday. It's the same line-up as last year, with World of Color - Winter Dreams and Viva Navidad at Disney California Adventure, and the steadfast It's a Small World Holiday, Christmas Fantasy parade, and the Believe in Holiday Magic fireworks at Disneyland. Anna and Elsa will be in the Christmas parade this year, too. The Jingle Cruise is back on both coasts this year, as well, plussed with some additional decorations, perhaps to make up for the inconsistency of the skippers actually using any of the newly-written holiday jokes.
